IELTS

The IELTS is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration.

IELTS assesses all of your English skills – Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, which are graded on a band scale of 9, and is designed to reflect how you will use English at study, at work, in the social gathering, in your new life abroad. An acceptable score will be anything more than 6.5 bands.

There are 2 Modules of IELTS to choose from –
  • 1. Academic IELTS

    1. Listening

    • Time allotted – 30mins.
    • Test parts – 4 sections
    • No. of Questions – 40.

    2. Reading

    • Time allotted – 60mins.
    • Test parts – 3 sections
    • No. of Questions – 40.

    3. Writing

    • Time allotted – 60 mins.
    • No. of tasks 2 (Task 1 – Report writing, Task 2 – Essay writing)

    4. Speaking

    • Time allotted – 11-14 mins.
    • Test parts – 3 sections
  • 2. General IELTS

    1. Listening

    • Time allotted – 30mins.
    • Test parts – 4 sections
    • No. of Questions – 40.

    2. Reading

    • Time allotted – 60mins.
    • Test parts – 3 sections
    • No. of Questions – 40.

    Section I

    • Contains 2-3 short factual texts, one of which may be composite (eg. – advertisement). Topics are related to everyday life in an English – speaking country.
    • Section II

      • Contains 2 short factual texts focusing on work – related issues (eg. Company policies, work place, facilities etc.)
      • Section III

        • Contains 2-3 short factual texts, one of which may be composite (eg. – advertisement). Topics are related to everyday life in an English – speaking country.

    3. Writing

    • Time allotted – 60mins.
    • No. of Tasks tasks – 2 (Task 1 – Letter writing, Task 2 – Essay writing)

    4. Speaking

    • Time allotted – 11-14 mins..
    • Test parts – 3 sections
